Our last Friday Night Feature of the year is of the 2018 7A Arkansas State Champion Marching Band the Van Buren High School Pointer Pride Band.
For our final Friday Night Feature of the 2018 Marching Season we attended the Van Buren Springdale game to feature the newly crown 7A Marching Band State Champions. As we arrived, the seniors for Football, Cheer, Drill, Choir, and Band were being honored during the pregame. Band members were cheering on their senior leadership with fresh printed State Championship posters made by a local print shop. The Van Buren Band was also welcoming 8th grade students from the district to play with them in the stands.
Throughout the game it was like a party in the band stands. I talked with the directs about their recent victory at state. They beat Bentonville High by two tenths of a point to win their second straight state championship. The was honored at halftime for their 1st Division Rating, High Visual Award, and State Championship by the school district. Their overall score was 89.760. The band members were so excited to preform for their home crowd. Many of them wore GoPros to document their show so they could remember it for the rest of their life.
It was great to get to cover the new 7A State Champions for our last Friday Night Feature of the year. We look forward to next year and continuing to grow our relationships with the area bands. Next we will start cover parades and concerts that the area bands put on. If there are any events that you would like us to attend, please email or message us. Congratulations to all to all the area bands on their marching shows this year and thank you for welcoming us.
